Take a walk down memory lane with us! Here’s what we got for our first distribution ever, on June 6, 2009.

Haukerei Turnips (Japanese types: very sweet, very different from the fall turnips you will get come September. These are sweet, juicy, and can be eaten raw or fresh.  The greens are extremely high in iron and are great with the turnips.  Saute the turnips until just browning/tender and then finely chop the greens and add to the cooking until they turn bright green.)

-Radishes (These are a great tasting, red, round radish.)

-Kale (This is winterbor: great tasting and very longstanding.  It tastes great in the summer as well as after the frost.)

-Rapini (Spring Raab. Special variety for Spring.  It matures even without the long days of summer.  A great, bitter Italian cooking green.  On the farm we love it with white beans.)

-Collards (Top Bunch variety.  A very productive strain that is very dark green and excellent eating all season long.)

-Head lettuce (Expect some mixture of New Red Fire, Tropicana, and Winter Density (aka Romaine, green leaf, and red leaf).)
